Tyler has had quite a difficult transition into civilian life after being discharged from the Army. Tyler’s goal was to obtain his forklift licence in the hope he could sustain future employment in an open space facility. Tyler successfully obtained his forklift licence, and to gain experience to be competitive in the labour market, Career Shift have secured a work trial for Tyler with global logistics company QUBE Logistics. Tyler will have the opportunity to work as a Forklift Operator including load and unload pallets, transporting goods to designated areas, navigating warehouses, stickering items, scanning items, and location labels. Additionally, Tyler may also prepare and position machinery for operation, manually wrap a pallet, open & close curtain siders and clean up spills. QUBE Operations Manager advised if Tyler enjoys the work, they will be in a position to offer him employment.
Jake is a motivated young man who has set his sights on becoming a Plant Machinery Operator. Jack has successfully obtained his tickets/licences in Excavator, Dozer, Roller, Skid Steer & HR unrestricted. Despite the limited opportunities in this industry for candidates without experience, Career Shift has secured a work trial with Alzino & co. Jake has commenced work and is operating water trucks, final trim dozers, loaders excavators and dump trucks to complete earth moving tasks including earthmoving, digging, levelling, relocating and compacting.
David’s employment skills were unique to his service in the RAAF, with limited opportunities to utilise these skills in civilian employment. With David’s preference to work with a Defence Contractor, and after employment coaching, a work trial was secured with TAE Aerospace, where David is testing his operational support skills by providing assistance to the Work Health & Safety Manager. David is assisting with data entry & analysis, safety and chemical audits, hazard reports and update of policy and procedures.
